2020 RIDE/RUN/WALK: SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY! |
| | By now, perhaps you've already heard that our Outreach for Hope 2020 Ride/Run/Walk is going virtual. But did you realize that this new format means there's something for everyone? We are inviting not just bikers, but runners and walkers, to remotely participate in 25 fitness and fundraising challenges in honor of Outreach for Hope's 25th anniversary, between now and September 30th. Or, if you just want to fundraise or are on a tight budget, you can register for free as a "Friend of Outreach for Hope" -- and if you raise $40 or more, you'll receive an event T-shirt by mail as a special thank you! With your help, we want to register a minimum of 625 participants, log 25,000 miles, and raise $150,000! Your financial support is more important than ever before in our 25-year history. Can we count on you to help us get there? Register now, check out our blog for helpful resources, and join our Facebook Group to receive important updates and #connect with fellow participants in the weeks to come. |
| | | OUTREACH FOR HOPE LAUNCHES MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT VIDEOS |
| | Earlier this month, we released the first video in a series highlighting the vital work of our ministry partners in Southeast Wisconsin. So far, we've released videos featuring Grace Welcome Center (Kenosha), Redeemer Lutheran Church (Milwaukee), and Village Church (Milwaukee). Watch for new videos posted regularly on the Outreach for Hope Ministry Spotlight Video webpage, and on Facebook, YouTube and Google Drive. Congregations are encouraged to incorporate these videos into their worship announcements to raise awareness and inspire members to give generously in support of transformative ministries in our Synod. Contact Robyn Di Giacinto with any technical questions about accessing the videos. |

2020 LENTEN DEVOTIONS WRAP-UP |
|
Outreach for Hope is pleased to announce that this year's Lenten Devotions raised over $11,000 -- a 5% increase over 2019. Thank you for your support! Our sincere thanks to Rev. Gerald Goodrich, this year's editor, and to our devotion authors. The devotions were printed, emailed and, for the first time, posted on Facebook for an ever-growing audience. This year's devotions celebrated Outreach for Hope's 25th anniversary with the theme, "Remembering the Past, Ministering in the Present, Looking to the Future." The theme turned out to be especially relevant in 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic and movement for racial justice have pushed all of us to reconsider our actions in the past and present, and how we might work together to forge a better future. As we turn our attention to the future, we ask you to consider the following: - Volunteer as a writer for our 2021 Lenten Devotions. Please drop us a note at info@outreachforhope.org, and we will be in contact early next year when we are ready to accept submissions.
- Sign up to receive the 2021 Lenten Devotions by email or Facebook. Sign up for our mailing list (be sure to select 'yes' for 'I'd like to receive the Lenten Devotions by email), and like our Facebook page.
- Support Outreach for Hope financially, so that we in turn can continue to support ministries in urban areas throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Those who donate online are strongly encouraged to designate their gift to the 2020 Ride/Run/Walk. Better yet, sign up to participate at ofhbikeride.com.
Thank you to the hundreds of readers, donors and congregations whose financial support makes the Outreach for Hope Lenten Devotions possible! |
